Energy Academy of Turkey

The “Energy Academy of Turkey”, founded by Limak Energy together with Bosphorus University Lifelong Education Center, gave its first graduates. 100 students, studying engineering in different universities of Turkey, came to Istanbul for two days following the online training that lasted for 4 months. Engineering students, who were entitled to receive certificates following the exam they took, received their certificates in a ceremony organized at Bosphorus University. Training of 100 more students are continued also in the new education term.

University students, who complete the program successfully, are also entitled to receive the NCCER Energy Certificate that is valid in 21 different countries including the US, issued by Pearson that is the largest education solutions organization of the world and has accredited Bosphorus University Lifelong Education Center, in addition to the Bosphorus University certificate.


The KEDS Academy, established by Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company (KEDS) conducting electricity distribution activities in Kosovo, in order to contribute in the solution to the unemployment problem, gave its fourth term graduates. The students, who successfully complete their training of approximately 9 months, find the opportunity to work within the KEDS organization and in Europe, thanks to the BTEC certificate that is acknowledged in all EU countries. In the fourth term, state universities in Gilan, Prizren, Mitrovica and Peja have joined KEDS Academy, which was in collaboration with only Pristine University and technical high-schools at first.

KEDS  Academy gave 192 graduates in the 4th term, and employment was offered to 126 youngsters.


The Limak Airport Services Institute (LimakASI) social responsibility project, which we have implemented as Pristine Adem Jashari International Airport in collaboration with the Bosphorus University Life-Long Education Center, Pristine University and French Civil Aviation School ENAC in order to offer new career opportunities to the young and talented labor force, gave its third term graduates. 30 candidates in their senior year, studying at the different departments of Pristine University, from law to engineering faculties, who qualified to participate in the education program where 450 students, 201 of which were girls applied in the first year, graduated upon having successfully completed their six-months’ theoretical and practical trainings and three months of training and following two challenging exams and interview by Bosphorus University. The Airport Operation certificates received by the students with the program will be applicable in more than 100 airports and related sector enterprises in more than 70 countries in compliance with the European Union Aviation Acquis and the relevant sector enterprises. LimakASI, merging academic education with the know-how and experience of the private sector, continues its activities with success as a reference training center for qualified labor force in the field of airport operation in the geography where it is located.

Limak ASI gave 90 graduates in total in three terms, and employment has been provided to 63 youngsters.

LimakPort İskenderun Handicapped Basketball Team Sponsorship

The Iskenderun Handicapped Basketball Team, supported by LimakPort, was promoted to the first league in the 2013-2014 season and became the champion by completing the play-off games as undefeated.

The Iskenderun Handicapped Basketball Team that continues its effort successfully also in the new season, aims to be promoted to the Super League.


There is Something in this Youth!

At the “TÜSİAD There is Something in this Youth Contest”, which was created in 2011 in order to increase the entrepreneurship awareness of university youth and support their ideas, the Buz Dökücüler team from Amasya University won the third prize of 25,000 TL in value, by their project aimed to find a long-term, rational and low-cost solution to the problem of ice load formed on power transmission lines, under the guidance of Limak Investment Board of Directors’ Chairperson Ebru Özdemir and Corporate Finance Director Kerem Güzel.

“Lights of the City” Photography Contest

Professional and amateur photographers participated at the photography contest that was organized by Uludağ Electricity Distribution Corp. for the fifth time in 2017, with the “City and Light” theme.  Photographs captured by amateur and professional photographers at night, under electrical light, contested. An exhibition composed of photographs that ranked was opened at the end of the contest.

“A Book A Brighter Future”

Village schools, which did not have libraries or had inadequate libraries, determined by the Directorate of National Education, acquired libraries at the end of the book collection process carried out by UEDAŞ within the scope of the “A Book A Brighter Future” project.

LimakPort Turkish Red Crescent blood donation campaign

The Red Crescent, which has been conducting the National Blood Supply Project since 2005 in order to meet the entire blood requirement of Turkey from reliable and regular donors, has been supported by LimakPort employees this time, in addition to the Holding headquarters and many of our group companies. Those who were in need and volunteer employees got together at LimakPort, with the collaboration of  LimakPort and the Red Crescent. 36 employees, who participated in this event, supported those who were in need by donating blood.


UEDAŞ Chorus Group

UEDAŞ Turkish Folk Music Chorus performed Turkish classical and folk songs from different regions for the benefit of the Red Crescent, in order to offer another art event to the region and create awareness. UEDAŞ Turkish Folk Music Chorus is composed of 20 EUDAŞ employees, who have set their heart on folk music, and the employees prepared for the concert for 3 months. All sponsorship revenue and support acquired from the concert was donated to the Turkish Red Crescent.


“May My Brother Not Be Cold” Campaign

Within the scope of the “May My Brother Not Be Cold” project that is conducted by UEDAŞ since 2013, winter clothing aid is provided to needy students in 9 schools, determined in the mountain villages of Bursa.



Limak has supported micro-credit by making a donation to the first micro-credit branch opened in Siirt Kurtalan on November 21, 2008.

The Branch, which gave credits to 3,038 micro-entrepreneur women since its establishment, has extended 813,988.31 TL of micro-credit to 401 micro-entrepreneur women in 2017.
