We implemented the “Junior Engineers of Home” project in order to be able to popularize engineering for pre-school children, and explain that engineering exists in all areas of life to the families and pre-school children by specially designed games.
Events were organized in Gaziantep province, which has been chosen as the first stop, within the scope of the project together with the book containing entertaining and educating games, prepared by Şermin Yaşar. Both the book was introduced and events were held as aimed for pre-school teachers, parents and 4-6 years’ old children during the first event that was held with the participation of Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Şahin and Gaziantep Provincial Director of National Education Cengiz Mete, in addition to Limak Foundation Board of Directors’ Chairperson Ebru Özdemir and Şermin Yaşar. 300 parents and 300 students participated in the event The event continued for 1 week by offering an engineering experience to almost 1,000 students of pre-school age and the book was handed out to the participating children as a gift of the Foundation .
The project will be continued in 2018 with meetings with families, teacher training seminars, classroom applications and parent briefing meetings in Gaziantep.
